 Welcome! 

I’m Destiny, the owner of this blog and guide to understanding the role of public relations in the gaming industry. You may be someone who wants to develop their knowledge in gaming, public relations or both and how they rely on each other. This is a blog by a student for students, especially ones that have interest in gaming, entertainment and how they interact with the public relations industry. 


Throughout the upcoming weeks, there will be blog posts that range from organisations and campaigns to representation. As a university student, I will be using the knowledge and experience I have developed to offer personal insights to the discussions.

What springs to mind when we think of the term cozy (or cosy since Google Docs keep correcting the word)?  A warm blanket with hot cocoa as the rain pelts down outside? The big comfy sweater that can be worn the second the leaves turn red and orange ? Or is it being stranded on a tropical island where you have to pay your debts off to a talking raccoon (tanuki actually but I digress).  Many of us have our own meaning and definition of cosy, however at least in popular culture, video games were not necessarily seen as a part of the discussion. This is because some of the most popular video games seem anything but comforting. Games that involve zombie outbreaks, war or even just frustrating platformers.  Hi, So, as we all know I am a PR MA student and before that I was studying journalism. Throughout my education, I racked up lots of skills, content and student debt. The first two will be the ones this blog post will showcase (if you do want to help out on the last part I am not turning down a rich millionaire.)  Why is it important to have an online portfolio?  Well, by recording the work you have created you can upload them on a platform or doc which can be viewed by potential employers to back up your creativity and initiative. It can show who you are and your interests visually and your dedication. It does not have to be fancy or eloquent, just a few pages here and there that you can send.
